I’ve noticed that the Honduran Anolis allisoni typically exhibit considerably less blue on their bodies than their conspecifics found on mainland Cuba (although there is still quite a bit of variation on Cuba, as well). I wonder what’s up with that. Happenstance? More predators on the Cayos Cochinos? Different visual environment?

That Cayos Cochinos individual looks very similar to those we observed on Roatan when we were there. Much less blue than I had expected.
