We’ve noted before that little is known about dewlap use by females. Here’s a video of green anoles mating in which the female periodically bobs her head and occasionally sticks out her dewlap.

While down in Florida this past summer, I observed a copulating pair of brown anoles. During the event, the male would periodically freeze as if uncomfortable with my presence. When the male would stop, the female would push up, bob her head, and extend her dewlap at the male. In my head, the female was saying, “Hurry up already!”. The females activity would then spur the male into movement for 5 seconds, and the process would repeat.
