I’m not sure if I’m doing this correctly, but here goes….
I recently photographed this anole in the bird blind at Laguna Cartagena NWR in southwestern Puerto Rico ( 18.012577, -67.107464).
Anyone know which taxon this might be?
Thanks in advance

It looks like Anolis gundlachi (based on shape and color pattern), though I can’t see the blue iris.

Here is a crop of the head. I don’t believe the iris was blue in any of the three photos I got. I did see photograph gundlachi in El Yunque and its blue iris was obvious.

Not Anolis gundlachi. Could only be A. cristatellus or A. cooki. Based on the shape of the eye, I would guess A. cooki – but I find these species difficult to distinguish even in hand. The locality is also right for A. cooki, but A. cristatellus also occurs there. It is not unusual for A. cristatellus to be very light in color (as is this individual) in that part of the island.

Looks like cristatellus. Anolis cooki is even lighter and has is more slender – that chunky head definitely indicates cristatellus to me.

I wouldn’t bet against it!

Thanks for all the feedback. We did see A. cristatellus nearby (of course), but this anole had a more distinct pattern than the cristatellus we saw. I would, however, characterize this individual as a large, “chunky” anole.
So I guess it will be A. cf. cristatellus on my image notes.
Thanks all.
