Does anybody have some pictures of wild Anolis smallwoodi or Anolis ricordii that they could send me? If so, please send them to me at wbaugher@nashvillezoo.org. They are for personal use for comparing animals in a collection. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

That anole bit me, and it really hurt.

HaHa, they bite straight through pinkie mice, so i bet its a pretty strong bite. They haven’t quite gotten me yet!

Anything helps, really. I’m just trying to get a look at their color overall. Thanks for the pictures.

I have some photos of A. ricordii that I can send you. I also changed your single ‘i’ spelling of A. ricordii so that we don’t propagate the mistake of lopping this letter off!

I’m just following the direction of my curator on that one, haha. Would you spell it “smallwoodii” then? or is it still smallwoodi?

I think this is an anolis smallwoodi…I’m not sure but it jumped from a tree to my patio, very animated, and tried to eat my plastic berries. Here are some pics.

That’s Anolis equestris, which is very closely related. Neat pics, wish you had gotten a photo with a berry in its mouth!

I actually do! I thought I uploaded that one, see below. Thanks for the clarification, I will keep an eye out for more visitations and try to make sure he doesn’t digest any plastic berries. Otherwise I may have to pull that off the patio 🙂
