    Presumably the green anole didn’t catch this moth, which suggests that it was scavenging. Anoles are generally thought to be attracted to movement as a stimulus for feeding behavior, though there are some exceptions, so this is quite interesting.

    Interesting habitat. Pine needles in the background suggest some sort of pine forest but I also see some ?palm fronds?. Where is this?
    Also, I guess the hard earned moth meal was still energetically more beneficial than those ants crawling in the background.

    The video was shot in September 2007 at Chichi-jima, one of the Ogasawara Islands. The moth is Thyas coronata. The video’s description states that the anole caught the moth while the moth was mating.
